Not-so Usual Behavior for Chihuahua
Posted On 11/01/2008 10:55:24 by Echooooooooooo

I've always thought that Chihuahuas, if not most small breeds love to burrow underneath blankets or for any sort of covers for that matter. Every Chi owners I've talk to and know of, tells me how their Chis loves to get under the warmth of covers. Not so, for my lil' Chihuahua. Most of the time, I'd get him under the covers and within few minutes he would crawl back out of it and would go back to sleeping or napping on top of the cover. Lately, because he's been sick, I tried to keep him under the covers, but as usual he crawls back out and lays on top of the cover. Another thing I've thought to be odd of my Chi is how he doesn't dive for the food as soon as I put it down on the floor. Don't most dogs go nuts of wanting their food? It isn't like he's full or anything. As I prepare his meal, he sits there as if he is patiently waiting for his meal. Yet, as soon as I put it down.. still he sits there, not sure whether he should go for it or not. Eventually he gets to his food, but I just find it kinda odd that he doesn't seem to be eager for it.

Now, i have 6 chis. Only one of theme,  Pitty who is the oldiest (8 years), like to sleep under the blanket, all the time. I wonder how he can breath...The others, sleep only few minutes under the covers, than thay go back on top of the cover.

With foods it's almost the same. I dont't know why, it's days when some of them wait patiently for them meal, and the others go nuts of waiting there foods, days when all of theme wait patiently, and days when all of them go nuts of waiting. Allways, every each of my chis is differently...

I have 4 chis and 3 out of the 4 LOVE to be under the blankets, especially  my scrawny little Toby.  He has to be dragged out in the morning to eat and go outside.  Then he's right back to bed under the covers.  His sister Layla almost always sleeps on top of the blanket.  She has more hair so maybe that's why. Just lately she has been going under the covers more, but generally she doesn't.
