Boy howdy! Wee One is in heat and we have decided not to breed her this time around. I want her body to rest-especially after the nine she had a while back. It is harder to keep her from breeding then it is to raise the babies. I have a bikini for her to wear-we're trying to slow Clyde down and prevent him from getting to her. At night, we put Clyde in a kennel and the kennel sits on our headboard. He can see us, smell us and still interact, but he whines like nobody's business. I let him out when I got up on the weekend but this am I left him in as my hubby was still in bed. Clyde was crying about it, though. 

I suggested my hubby take her bikini off every 2 to 3 hours so she could potty; little did I expect the story I got when I called to check on them. It seems that when my hubby took her bikini off (after he locked Clyde in the bathroom) Wee One went and lay down in front of the bathroom door and , according to my mom-in-law, the two of them were blowing kisses under the door. I laughed about that and the Andy told me he had to get them from out in the yard earlier. He said it looked like the two of them were drawing blue-prints in the mud trying to figure out how to get the bikini off. That just paints a picture and I laughed some more. Those who have Chihuahuas know how intelligent they can be-most of them anyway-and how this can be a huge source of entertainment. I do love Chihuahuas!

The babies should be opening their eyes this week. I am looking forward to this so I can take some pix of my little beautiful pups. Minnie's mommy genes are in hyper-drive still-although she lays on our laps and monitors the kennel. She has tried to carry Wrinkles baby to her kennel and the little one screams. We really have to watch them, but I think this will ease a little after the eyes open.

I didn't think it was possible, but Wrinkles has gotten cuter and more lovey since she had her pups. She comes downstairs to see us several times thru the night and goes back up to her babies. Minnie does the same thing, but I sure wish she would stop using me as a "doggy trail." She hops up onto my leg and runs clear up to my shoulder where she jumps off, licks me and then roots at me to get under the covers. Nevermind that she crawls out from under my covers to do the same to Andy and the she goes back upstairs only to repeat the process five minutes later. I realize she wants to be with us and her puppies, but good grief! When Wrinkles babies were first born, we took turns sleeping upstairs, so she would stay with ther babies. She slept with me when I did it; unfortunately, I couldn't do it anymore because I aggravated my knee. The pain is finally letting up-I think I was run over sometime in the night and didn't  feel it.

I have 2 very good mommies and the bigger dogs are taking it in stride. The lab just puts his down when Minnie is chastising him for being too close to her kennel and she bites him. He lets her get it out of his system and then he lays down until the next round.Constant entertainment is what life's all about !
