My little chihuahua's name is Maxie. He is 5 1/2 months old. The tips of his ears are flopped over and I was wondering if they will ever stand straight up. Once in a while I will see one ear up but not both. Is there a certain age that they will either stand up or just stay the same? Even if they stay the same, I won't care. It gives him character and is cuter. Would appreciate any info.

My Chihuahua's ears do the same thing! I would love for her ears to stay up, but they keep changing; they are usually down. She does have an ear infection and ever since I started putting the medicine in her ears they seem to stand up a little more, but that probably has nothing to do with it. She is only around 14 weeks old, but my other Chi had her ears up when she was 8 weeks old; go figure.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have been reading many books and they say it can take up to a year. He is still teething and I know that has alot to do with it. Also, since I wrote this message they have been standing up a little more. (You are right, I would love my Maxie with his ears up or down) Your Chi is beautiful! Some day I want to get Maxie a friend. |
