Hi everyone..i am a newbie to the site!

 

I would like to breed my precious girl, she is a chi x jack ,she has just started her 3rd season and will be two years old in a few weeks time.

I noticed light blood spotting yesterday, but i am no expert and its possible i may have missed. she is a little swollen and our old lab is salivating lol

I am wondering at what time i should put her to stud, typically i go on hols in 11days...so i may have to miss this season?

any advice much appreciated

NO, YOU DON'T MISS IF IS 11-TH DAY, BETWEEN THE 9-th and 13-th DAY IS THE RIGHT PERIOD. SO...

Some dogs are ready already from day three and up to day twenty so there's always exeptions*lol* A good way of knowing is to have your vet do a smear ( Since I am from norway i do not know if this is correct writing, but they take a long q-tip and pics up cells from the cervix) where they will see if she is ready to mate. You can also tell by her reaction to a stud, if she doesn't chase him off, she is probably ready.
