My poor piper is so small! She will be 10 months old on Christmas. She barely weighs 2 pounds! And that is if she has just eaten a lot. She looks so bony! The vet says she is healthy, but to me she is just so tiny. My Rowdy is a big chubby boy, he weighs 5 pounds at almost 14 months old. When do chihuahuas stop growing? Rowdy seems to have stopped, but I want piper to get bigger! Any help with getting some weight on her scrawny bones?

HI,
I WAS READ THAT CHIHUAHUAS BECAME TO THE MAXIMUM SIZE AT SIX MONTHS OLD :), BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS TRUE, BECAUSE I NOTICED THAT MY BABBIES GROWED UP AFTER THAT OLD, I THINK TO ONE YEAR OLD...ANYWAY, YOUR PIPER IS SO SMALL...I HOPE SHE WILL GET BIGGER, BUT IF THE VET TOLD YOU THAT SHE IS HEALTHY, YOU DON'T HAD REASONS FOR WORRIES... |

Sometimes It depends on the genes of your dogs. Maybe the father and mother have genes that dictate that the dogs will be small. Maybe Genetics and Heredity is the factor that inhibit your dog to grow and If that is the case i don't think of any to increase the weight or size of your chi..
