One more question... I have read a lot that chis can be one person dogs (bond better to one person)... i need this dog to be a family dog... am I asking too much?  I have a 3 year old and this pup is for her... but of course my husband and I will want to be close to it as well.  I'm getting scared thinking about all this!  I also have dog allergies.. but we already have 2 dogs so what's a 3rd right?  And they are big dogs.  I've heard the long hair chis shed less... what is your experience?  And are they really that hard to potty train?  We will crate her while we are at work... but hoping eventually she'll hold it all day and potty outside like my other dogs do.

 

Just nervous... any help would be appreciated!

Waw, both are sweet, but i like the chocolate... :).
It's true that chis bond better to one person, but they love all the members of familly, don't worry! Only they became attached much more to one person from the house.
If they are fed with proper food, shed less. I have only long haired ( six :)) and i don't have problems with the hair, only one or two times of the year, when is normally to shed.
It' a little hard to potty train, but if she will go outside every time when you are thinking she need, she will be wont to potty outside. But must to have patience with her...

Well... apparently the vet thinks the brown one is too small and shouldn't be sold until she's older and to someone without a kid.  I think the lady selling them is full of it!  But whatever.  I don't like being forced into a decision.  My dream dog is a maltese so I don't want to settle... I'm an animal lover... so i know i'd love the dog... just so worried about the allergies part.  I don't hold and love on my big dogs... so will I react if I do with a little one?  Ugh!!!

If i were you i would choose the chocolate. hehe. Yuri by the way has the same color as that one and he is adorable. :) That's my opinion but it's up to you what to choose because any chi is fine as long as you have a passion to care for these little angels :)
