Hi, I am new to this site. I have two chihuahuas. Their names are Brenna Jewel and Autumn Spice. They are both over a year old. Curious about this site. I had Brenna bred and she is due in December. Any information on taking care of a pregnant chihuahua is very much appreciated. Thanks! and nice to meet everyone!

Hahaha.... stupid me. Guess I should of checked here before asking something you already answered to. My name is Shawn and my Chi's name is Echo. He is 8months old. Again, glad to have you on here. I do hope you enjoy the site. I love the names of your chihuahuas!! How did you ever come up with their names? I'm no expert in breeding, but if Brenna is only little over a year old, isn't she still too young to be pregnant? Well, I guess as long as she is fully grown and is in good health, I'm sure all is okay.  As for some information on taking care of your pregnant Chi, there's a forum:

I also remember reading upon some good articles on taking care of pregnant chi. When I fnd the link, I'll post it.

Thank you! It took me a week to come up with Brenna's name. It means dark haired. So, to me it means dark haired Jewel. I just liked the name Autumn and she has brindle in her legs so I though it looked like spices. She is long haired and Brenna is short haired. As for how old she is and being pregnant. She has had two heat cycles.

The lady I got her from has a male that we bred her to. She has raised chihuahuas for a long time and is helping me through the process.

Have you seen the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua? Well..... Brenna and Chloe are half brother and sister. Chloe is actually a male playing a female role in the movie. They have the same Mother. The lady I got Brenna from was contacted by Disney last year and wanted to use her chihuahuas in their movie. So, she sold Avelanche to Disney and 4 of her other dogs are in the movie also. Pretty cool! I feel like I am related to a movie star! Her website is www.blackberrybabies.com. click on information and it will tell you more.

Nice to meet you and thanks for replying!

Yeah! Cool! I feel like I'm related to a celebrity! You just never know anymore whether the dogs in movies are boys or girls. They can disguise that so easily!

Brenna is actually 1 year and 7 months old. Autumn is 1 year and 5 months old. Jasmine Gail is my min pin and she is 1 year and 5 months old. I also have Bandit who is 6 months old and Tyson who is 9 months old.

We have a blast watching them all play.

Did you check out the website? The dogs at the top are the ones in the movie.

Wow!, another Chi Posse. I'm hoping to get playmate for Echo sometime in the near future. I did check out the site. That's pretty cool. The picture with the lady, I'm guessing is the breeder. Is that Chole in the picture with her? o_O Kinda look like her, lol... I mean him.. >.<

He is a long haired chi. You have to check him out he is sooooo cute! I can't wait to see the babies!

Neat story...I've often said my chis could be calendar stars!  Being in a movie is another story though.  Welcome to the site and good luck with your upcoming litter.  I'm no expert, but I'd suggest making sure her diet is complete.  I give vitamins and calcium, especially after whelping.  She'll use up a lot of calcium during whelping and afterwards.  Calcium deficiency is dangerous.  I'm sure your breeder and vet are helping.  Make sure to post pics!

Thank you! You chihuahuas are very cute! Did you check out the website? some of her chis are marked up like yours. I always thought they came in just a few different colors. I found out otherwise.

I've been doing some reading on the subject of pregnant chis. I plan on taking her to the vet. sometime to check for heartbeats. Her first breeding was on Oct. 15th. Nice to meet you!

I thought it was really good. So did my Grand children. We laughed a lot! It is a good family movie. It was worth going to see.

We were invited to the Premier since my friend owned the dogs in the movie. She sent us an initation. We traveled to Illinois to see it. Long trip but, worth it.
